This Weeks “LIVE” Journalist Roundtable
On Your Community Channel!
Tune to KOCT - Channel 18, Thursday August 7th at 6 pm for a one-hour “live” Journalist Roundtable program.
Our Guests will include, Zack Beck, Oceanside’s City Clerk and he will discuss the upcoming election, what local seats are open and the low voter turn out in the June primary. He will also discuss a new public-private partnership that will allow for citizens to have information available to them concerning candidates in a more convenient, transparent and accessible manner.
Additional guests will include, Dave Geier, Vice President of Electric Transmission and Systems Engineer for SDG&E. He will discuss their response and recovery after the Carlsbad fires, their renewable energy efforts, the loss of San Onofre and a potential new power plant in Carlsbad. David Salina, owner of San Diego Puppy, whose business has experienced many protests by local anti-puppy mill activists. This segment will also feature an on-the-street interview with one of the protesters, Leslie Davies, and we will ask Mr. David Salina to respond to her comments.
Our last guest, Janet Bledsoe-Lacy, has served on OUSD Board of Trustees for over a decade and recently announced she will not run again. She will give her reflections on the current state of Oceanside Unified School District, the new Superintendent and the biggest challenges she faced during her long tenure.
The host for Journalist Roundtable is veteran journalist Kent Davy and he will be joined on set by KPBS’s Alison St John and columnist Logan Jenkins from San Diego Union-Tribune.
