This week on KOCT’s Journalist Roundtable

This week’s Journalist Roundtable, “The Media in North County: 2015” will air on KOCT’s channel 18 at 6 pm. This one hour ‘live’ program will focus on the many on-line and print newspapers that have filled the local news gap since the loss of the North County Times.

The host of the program is Kent Davy, the former Editor for the North County Times. He will be joined by Alison St. John, the KPBS North County Bureau Editor.  Our guest will be Tom Mallory, the On-Line Editor for the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Over the past two years the Journalist Roundtable program has interviewed representative from the Coast News, O’side News, Oceanside Post, Seaside Courier and other local news organizations. Brief segments from these programs will stimulate discussion about the viability of the established local newspapers and the many new start-ups. The Journalists will also discuss the recent acquisition of the San Diego Union-Tribune by the Los Angeles Times corporation.

The program can be viewed on Channel 18 Cox Cable in Oceanside, and AT&T U-Verse, county-wide channel 99.  You can also stream us live on www.koct.org on your smart phone or tablet.

The program will also be made available as Video On Demand via KOCT.org beginning July 8th
