NewsBrief - Crown Heights Beach Soccer

Imagine the odds of soccer players in an after school program in an underserved neighborhood winning the National Beach Soccer Championships in Clearwater Florida. That is the story we feature in this NewsBrief.
The young men on the soccer team based out of the Crown Heights Community Center in Oceanside, California, grew up together playing soccer at the after school program funded by North County Lifeline and formed strong friendships.
They made history by making it to the National championships undefeated and went on to snatch victory from a physically bigger team froth East Coast. The team credits the support they received over the years from the staff at Club Crown Heights for helping them maintain focus and for the giving them the confidence that they could achieve their lifelong dream of winning the national championships.
