Press Release March 31, 2014

San Diego County District Attorney’s Candidates want you to know why they are running in the June Primary elections. On this weeks “LIVE” Journalist Roundtable!

Tune to KOCT - Channel 18, Thursday April 3rd at 6 pm for a one-hour “live” Journalist Roundtable program.

Our first guest, Robert Brewer, Lawyer and Candidate for the San Diego County District Attorney’s office has been recognized in several categories by Best Lawyers in America continuously since 1996 and believes the District Attorney must remain completely non-partisan and non-political so the public can trust him or her to make impartial, objective decisions if and when local politicians are under investigation for possible criminal conduct.

Our second guest, Terri Wyatt, is a career prosecutor not a politician who was hired by DA Edwin L. Miller in 1987, as a Deputy District Attorney. She believes it is time for a change in leadership in the San Diego County DA’s office and thinks this change should only be for the right leadership. The office needs to be led and managed in a non-partisan, non-political fashion at all times, to truly obtain justice without selective prosecution for political gain.

The incumbent District Attorney, Bonnie Dumanis, was also invited but according to her campaign manager could not attend due to a scheduling conflict.

The host for Journalist Roundtable is veteran journalist Kent Davy. He is joined on set by KPBS’s Alison St John and Logan Jenkins, columnist from the San Diego Union-Tribune.

The program can be viewed on Channel 18 Cox Cable in Oceanside, AT&T, county-wide. You can also stream us live on www.koct.org on your smart phone or tablet.  Stay in tune with your community by tuning into KOCT-The Oceanside Channels!

Next months show, Thursday, May 1st, will feature the two candidates for the San Diego County 5th Supervisorial District-incumbent Bill Horn and Mayor Jim Wood of Oceanside.
