This Evening’s Journalist Roundtable “LIVE”
On Your Community Channel

Tune to KOCT – Channel  18, Thursday, July 7th at 6pm to view the newest episode of Journalist Roundtable with a diverse lineup of guests and topics.

Randy Goodson, the developer for Lilac Hills Ranch – a proposed housing development – was a guest on our last Journalist Roundtable.  This month’s guest, Mark Jackson, is a resident near the proposed development.  He and other community members are opposed to the housing plan – calling it ‘leapfrog development’.

Our second guest is Max Disposti, Executive Director of the North County LGBTQ Resource Center in Oceanside.  This organization was recently damaged by vandals and it was deemed a hate crime by OPD.  In light of the tragedy in Orlando, we have asked Max to discuss the progress and peril facing the LGBTQ community.

Our third guest is Linda Culp, the Principle Planner for SANDAG.  She will discuss the planned expansion and improvement of the Oceanside Transit Center and busy southern California transportation hub.

Pastor Steve Bassett is our last guest.  He operates the Bread of Life Rescue Mission in Oceanside.  The non-profit was formed in 1999 and serves the poor, hungry, and homeless in six North County cities; Pastor Bassett will give a first-hand perspective of their services, his organization, and their future plans.

The host of this long-running monthly series is Kent Davy, the former Editor for the North County Times.  He will be joined by Alison St. John, the KPBS North County Bureau Editor, and Logan Jenkins, a columnist for the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Viewers in Oceanside can watch via Cox Cable on KOCT Channel 18, as well as county-wide on AT&T’s U-Verse service (Channel 99).  Stream us live on http://www.koct.organd on your smart phone or tablet by clicking here.  Stay in tune with your community by tuning in to KOCT-Your Community Channels!
