On October 3, Jay Jennings, a freelance writer/journalist and friend of Charles Portis, came to give the final presentation. Jay discussed the process Charles Portis went through to finish the novel and the production of the True Grit movies and Mr. Portis’ involvement with them. Throughout the presentation, Mr. Jennings used various visual aids in his discussion of the setting of the book and the inspiration of the location and characters in the True Grit novel.
